Moving between classical favourites, cinematic soundtracks, Eastern musical traditions and jazz-inspired brilliance, the programme reveals how music from different worlds can speak to the same human emotions.

The evening opens with some of the most expressive works in the Romantic piano repertoire.
Liszt’s interpretations of Schumann’s Widmung and Beethoven’s Adelaide explore the tenderness and intensity of love, while Rachmaninoff’s contrasting preludes move between lyrical reflection and rhythmic fire.
Chopin’s monumental Ballade No. 4 brings the first half to a dramatic close, unfolding like a story told entirely through music.

Some melodies have the power to transport us instantly to another place, another time or a cherished memory.
In Cinematic Reverie, a special selection reimagined by Claudia Yang, the piano brings new intimacy to memorable film music.
From the enchanting Magic Waltz in The Legend of 1900 to the haunting The Heart Asks Pleasure First from The Piano, the warmth of Forrest Gump and the evocative Moonlit Tea from A Letter to Grandma, this segment celebrates the emotional power of music on screen.
Tradition, imagination and a spectacular finale.
The programme continues with Wang Jianzhong’s A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix, a vibrant piano work inspired by Chinese musical traditions, filled with colour, movement and the sounds of nature.
The evening culminates in Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue, where classical virtuosity meets the unmistakable rhythms and spirit of jazz.

Praised by legendary conductor Lorin Maazel for her ability to “play from the soul,” Claudia Yang is an internationally acclaimed Malaysian-born pianist whose career has taken her across Europe, Asia and South America.
A graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, she has performed with distinguished ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and China National Symphony Orchestra.
Her interpretation of Liszt earned her Hungary’s prestigious Pro Cultura Hungarica award in 2014, while her artistic work continues to bridge Eastern and Western musical traditions.
For Gather With Heart & Soul, Claudia brings her musical artistry and personal interpretation to an intimate recital that celebrates the stories, memories and emotions behind every note.
